Thomas of Walnut Creek, NC contacted Carolina Basement Systems after noticing standing water on the floor of his basement. Standing water can be a breeding ground of all types of bacteria. It can also welcome plenty of other unwanted problems such as mold, mildew, humidity, high energy bills, allergies, and much more. Good thing this homeowner contacted the local professionals!
Our team of well-trained experts went straight to work on waterproofing this basement. All vents and windows were properly sealed and CleanSpace liner was wrapped around the piers, walls, and floors. This incredibly durable liner is used to control moisture by covering, sealing, and protecting the basement from any potential water vapors in the surrounding soils. Drainage matting is installed underneath the liner to capture any collected water and direct it away from the basement floor. An UltraSump pump is added to pump the collected water up and far away from the home's foundation. Lastly, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier and air purifier is installed to eliminate the high humidity and any risk of mold growth.

Water vapor and moisture was easily getting into the crawl space under this home. The thin plastic barrier quickly became useless and the health of the home suffering because of it.
We cleared out the failing solutions and encapsulated the entire crawl space to seal it from all moisture entry. Our durable vapor barrier is sealed around all surfaces that moisture could get in from. This, along with the thermal insulation along the walls, keeps the crawl space air from being affecting by any outside factors.
When we finished with the job, the home was in far better health and the homeowners were very happy with it.
The painted block wall in this basement had started to chip because of the water inside the block. Over time, the build up and evaporation of water left efflorescence in its place and made it much more difficult to paint back over. After realizing the issue was being cause by water seepage into the block walls, the homeowner wanted us to waterproof it.
We installed our patented interior waterproofing system that catches water as it, and after it, enters the block wall. This way the unwanted water never has a chance to get into the basement or sit and accumulate inside the block wall. The system then flushes the water out downhill away from the home’s foundation. This process will keep the basement dry for a very long time.
After our work was installed the homeowner was pleased with the job. Maybe in time he can re-paint the walls, but either way the space is protected from flooding and other issues that come along with consistent water seepage.
