The brick home started to experience stress cracking in the foundation. The home was starting to slope away from itself into the ground.
The homeowner had our experienced inspectors come out to find a solution. After looking around the home, inside the basement, and parts of the crawl space, we determined that helical piers would be perfect to support the home.
So, we installed several piers along the outer walls to pull the home’s foundation back up and stabilize it.
The corner of this brick house started to separate and sink away from the rest of the home. Cracking was the first indicator that made the homeowner nervous, and eventually the sagging became visually apparent.
The homeowners needed to stabilize the sinking foundation and hired us to ensure that it happened. We installed helical piers under the home and lifted it back into position. Doing this also stabilized the foundation and protected it from further sinkage.
The inside of this crawl space was a complete mess. It was not protected from water vapor and as a result it became extremely humid, a breeding ground for mold, and caused the insulation to fail. When the moisture was allowed into the area it would evaporate into the air making the conditions for mold growth perfect. It also would condensate on the fiberglass insulation which clumps and ruins the insulation. When the homeowners started smelling a must inside their home, they knew it was worth having the crawl space inspected.
We went out for a free inspection and found that the crawl space mainly needed to be protected from moisture being allowed easy access. To do this, we installed our durable and patented CleanSpace vapor barrier throughout to keep the water vapor in the ground and out of the air. After that, we added a SaniDry dehumidifying air system which helps keep the air dehumidified and purified.
Installing these products together made a massive difference to this home’s crawl space. It solved the problems at the root so not only were the negative effects, such as musty smells and mold growth gone, but the risk associated with having an unchecked crawl space were also eliminated. The homeowners were very happy, and we were glad we could help turn this crawl space around as nicely as we did.
