David of Ronda, NC contacted Carolina Basement Systems after noticing that his floors were sagging down. Our inspector went out to take a look and discovered that there was a ton of moisture getting into the crawl space. Water vapor getting inside of a crawl space can cause quite a few issues from musty odors, mold, sagging floors, and more. Good thing this homeowner decided to contact the local professionals!
Our team of well-trained experts began tackling this job by waterproofing the crawl space, so that water damage wouldn't ever be a concern for the future. They removed all debris and fiberglass insulation from the area and sealed off all vents. Drainage matting was placed on the ground to capture and redirect any water collected from underneath the vapor barrier. SilverGlo was installed to insulate the walls and CleanSpace liner sealed the remaining space to cover, and protect it from any water vapors that tried to seep through. An UltraSump pump with IceGuard protection was added to safely pump any water up and away from foundation area, even during freezing weather conditions. The SaniDry Sedona was installed to dehumidify and filter the air. After the crawl space was waterproofed, our team went to work on permanently stabilizing and lifting the sagging floors with SmartJacks. These high-capacity and fully adjustable steel piers are designed to stop sagging floors in their tracks and raise them back to their original position.

Leaking water was getting inside this basement and causing mold and humidity issues. The efflorescence and water damage on the block wall prompted the homeowner to find a solution.
Eventually, they called us to come inspect their basement. We found that the water seepage was coming in through the floor because of a water table issue.
