Our crew of well-trained professionals got right to work on waterproofing this garage. A CarbonArmor wall system was installed to stabilize the leaking walls. This process involves binding AmorLock brackets and CarbonArmor straps to floor joists which makes this system a quick and non-invasive solution to leaning walls. Next, a WaterGuard drainage system was placed around the perimeter of the space. This patented sub-floor drainage system is specially designed to catch water at its entry point and direct it away from the floors. Standing water has no chance if WaterGuard is involved! Lastly, CleanSpace liner was put on the walls to cover, seal, and protect the space from any water vapors that tried to seep through.

Chris from Mocksville, NC contacted Carolina Basement Systems because he was in need of foundation repair. His home was in danger of collapsing and he needed a solution fast. Carolina Basement Systems offered a free estimate and after inspection, they determined that Chris needed helical piers installed. Helical piers are steel piers that are driven into the ground to provide support for a foundation. They are screwed into the ground like a giant screw. 

This crawl space was unprotected and leaking water. The water intrusion started to raise the humidity and cause mold growth.

We inspected the home for the homeowners and advised a system that would protect the home by encapsulating the crawl space. So, we installed a waterproofing system and humidity control system. These products work together to keep water out and the crawl space dry.

The sagging floor of this home started to pull the floor apart and separate from the walls. The initial response from the homeowner was correct in placing jacks under the floor to stabilize it. However, the quality of these jacks soon began to suffer under the weight of the home and wooden beam.

When the sagging continued to be a problem, they started to search for a longer-term solution and found us. We replaced the existing jack system with our patented SmartJacks with a steel I-beam support. These jacks are adjustable, able to withstands tons of pressure, and able to jack the flooring back into place in many instances.

The homeowners were thrilled with the new work they had installed, and the upgrade has served the home well by putting a stop to the sagging foundation floor.

The basement walls had started to crack and bow inward. This was largely due to the expanding and contracting that the water in the dirt around the walls would do. Once the water started to leak inside, the basement had a whole new set of problems.

We were called to inspect the basement and found that it needed structural support and waterproofing. Doing this would stabilize the wall and keep it from collapsing and keep the water out of the home. So, we installed PowerBraces against the block wall, WaterGuard under the floor, and a TripleSafe sump pump in the corner. These installations completely waterproofed this basement and is holding the wall from further bowing.

The homeowners were very happy to have these issues solved. The basement was quickly becoming an unhealthy and problematic part of the home, and we fixed those pressing problems.

Erosion and water seepage had worn away the dirt under this porch. The most effected area of the porch at this point were the front steps. The void left underneath had allowed the brick steps to sink and shift. This created trip hazards, rendered the steps much less effective, and looked bad. So, we were hired to first stabilize and then attempt to lift and restore the steps.

We injected our PolyLevel foam under the porch steps and found it was easy to lift. The poly hardened and stabilized and restored the brick steps. This process involves drilling holes in the concrete or brick to get underneath where the void was created. Then, the poly seeps in as a liquid and hardens into an extremely durable foam. After the work, the homeowners were happy with the results. The brick porch steps went from problematic to a completely restored and functional part of the front porch.

Two very common problems started to afflict this basement in Mocksville. Wall cracks from increased pressure on the outside of the wall and water seepage from the ground water was putting this basement at the risk of wall collapse and it was creating a humid and musty air quality.

The tricky part of solving two problems at once is that you need to make sure the two different solutions can work in tandem. Thankfully for the home and homeowner’s, we provide these kinds of products. CarbonArmor strips were stuck to the back wall to stabilize them and keep them from bowing in any further and then ran a WaterGuard drain into a sump pump with CleanSpace vapor barrier on the wall to waterproof the basement and protect it from high levels of humidity.

After the job was finished, the homeowners were very happy with the results. We fixed the root of the problems concerning the wall bowing and the water seepage, and we were able to protect the air from humidity and make the area look nice.

Like a lot of crawl spaces this one was covered in black plastic. The protection provided by this covering is pretty good when first installed however it provides more of a short-term solution. The homeowner started to recognize this as their crawl space started to experience rises in humidity.

Now humid and wet the water vapor in the crawl space air created a must that was getting into the home’s common areas. To prevent this from happening, and worsening the health of the home, the homeowners contracted us to install our patented CleanSpace vapor barrier. This product is designed for crawl space encapsulation and is thick enough to not rip and can be sealed running up walls. Since block walls are porous and hold water well it is necessary to have some sort of barrier running up it.

After we finished installing the vapor barrier the crawl space looked much better. Visually, the space is much more appealing and usable, but it also is protected against water vapor like never before. By keeping the moisture out of the air, it is much easier to start to control the humidity inside the crawl space. The homeowners were very happy with the upgraded crawl space and look forward to the increased utility it offers their home.
