While a wet basement is never any good there needs to be precautions taken to make sure the installed system worked properly. A great example of the drainage portion of our waterproofing can been seen with this job in Marshall, NC.
The home’s basement wall was showing signs of water seepage and needed to be waterproofed, so we ran our WaterGuard product along the base of the home. This collects the water as it finds it way to the wall and runs it at a slight slope into our sump pump basin. These basins hold many gallons of water at time and the corner of this basement was a great place to install the pump because it had easy access to an exterior wall.
In order to get all the water from the basement out of the home we drilled through the brick exterior wall and ran and sealed a French drain drainage system from the sump pump. Now the water collected by our system in this house can easily pump the water out in a relatively unobtrusive way. The homeowners were pleased with our job and a great benefit was found in having our French drain output be downhill away from the house with a drainage cap that blends in with the ground.
