The crawl space under this home was a mess, but the sagging floors above were a much greater concern. The homeowners started to notice sagging and cracking in their floor which prompted them to contact us.
We inspected the home thoroughly and found that our SmartJack solution would be perfect. So, we started to install the jacks under a steel beam support. The jacks were placed strategically to help support and slightly push back the floor.
The homeowners were thrilled with this addition and felt safer walking on their floor.
Like most crawl spaces, when this home was built the builders laid clear plastic down inside the crawl space. This brings it up to code, but very quickly this thin barrier starts to rip, and the exposed earth allows moisture to easily evaporate into the air.
