Severe water seepage was draining into the below grade rooms of this church. It was getting under carpet, causing a musty smell, and facilitating mold growth. To ensure the health of the church building, we were hired to help drain the water out and keep it out permanently.
We installed WaterGuard along the perimeter of the underground space and CleanSpace along the walls. These products catch intruding water and flow it into our sump pump that discharges the water.
Finishing this project helped to increase the utility of the building and the church staff was very happy with the results.
Mold, ruined plastic, and insulation littered this crawl space. The air was musty and unhealthy for the home and the homeowner. The client we worked with was looking to have this house’s crawl space protected because his mom lived there and was experiencing health issues that were exacerbated by the moldy and musty conditions of the crawl space.
Most of the air breathed in a home is circulated from the crawl space. With this in mind, it is very important to make sure the quality of that air is as good as it can be. This crawl space had been waterproofed but without a vapor barrier, proper insulation, dehumidifier, and a way to seal it from the outside moisture in the air it was still able to produce proper conditions for mold growth.
We removed the torn plastic and insulation and installed a long-term solution instead. CleanSpace as a vapor barrier along with SilverGlo wall insulation, a SaniDry dehumidifier, and sealing the vents and door did wonders to this crawl space. Without the outside air and water vapor being able to affect the inside crawl space air it allows the dehumidifier to do its job and regulate the moisture in the air effectively. So now this crawl space is protected and allows the home to be more energy efficient as well as produce healthier air flows throughout the home. This is exactly what our client was looking to achieve for the homeowner.
