Water Leaking Behind Frame
A big concern with water seepage into a basement like this is that it would get behind the interior wall and rot the framing. Since this basement is yet to be finished, we can work to protect it beforehand.
Block Wall Cracking and Holding Water
The water intrusion was sitting inside the block walls and causing pressure that eventually cracked the wall.
CarbonArmor Wall Strips
To support the wall from bowing or cracking further we installed CarbonArmor strips. These strips are extremely durable and allow for us to vapor barrier over them.
Vapor Barrier and Sump Pump Installed
With the wall stabilized we finished our interior waterproofing system and added a vapor barrier to the wall. This system will keep water out of the basement and moisture out of the air to keep the humidity down.
