Bowing Wall Stabilization: A Ride Along

A homeowner reached out to our team at Carolina Basement Systems with concerns regarding his basement walls. They were cracked and bowing inward, which are both common signs of foundation failure - an issue no homeowner wishes to deal with! After one of our knowledgeable inspectors went out and completed a thorough investigation of the basement, it was decided that the solution to save this home's foundation was the CarbonArmor System.

With a plan of action agreed upon, Jesus ("Poncho") and his crew got to work!

 

Poncho and his crew arrived on time. They were eager to begin work and save this home's foundation walls.

 

First step was to mix up the epoxy resin mixture.

 

Next, they sealed up the cracks along the wall...

 

... and prepped the walls for the CarbonArmor straps.

 

The CarbonArmor straps and ArmorLock brackets were installed along the bowing wall every five feet.

The CarbonArmor system provided permanent stabilization to these formerly bowing foundation walls. The straps are made from fiber-reinforced polymers which are 10-times stronger than steel! Though the straps are ultra-strong, they are also quite flexible. This allows the straps to contour tightly against the walls. The ArmorLock brackets are then used to secure the straps to the floor joists, making the CarbonArmor system a fast and non-invasive wall-stabilizing solution.
